Dart Cards

What type of darts do you use?

Postby Bigfred » Tue Jul 20, 2010 6:42 pm

Just wondering what type of darts folks are using. I used a set of 28g Bob Anderson darts for about 30 years. About 2 months ago I decided to try a change. I bought a set of 25g Unicorn Sigma Pro Golds. For me, that was quite a change. I am still not 100% used to them yet but I am throwing well. The biggest thing was getting used to the weight. I still win more than I lose and using the new darts has made playing fun again. 8-)

I play with a set of 32 whatevers. I bought them 30 years ago and have 2 years under my belt after being away for 15 years. I may have to look at a different set when I find the money

My daughter is 16 and just finished her second year of darts. How many youth leagues are there out there?

There is a very good youth league in Sutton. It goes from the Fall to the Spring at the Sutton Legion Branch 356. 8-)

I purchased a set of Phil Taylor Phase 5's in Mississauga on my way to Gander in June. I have been practicing with them since I got back and have gotten used to the totally different grip. I was using 24g pencil style and these Taylor's are 26g and bubble shaped(the ones he's using now). My consistency has gone up a fair amount since I've been using them.

Just wondering if anybody knows a good dart supply place in the Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford area? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know Art's Trophy on Waverly Road but thats the only place!

Thanks

Hi all - looking for some help from some of the premiere players out there...

My game has improved a lot and I'm winning 90% of my league games and stats have improved significantly - now averaging 501 in about 21 darts (lowest 14).

My problem/issue is my throw... I keep changing it all the time... is this normal? I have a different technique for double-outs than for my scoring shots and when I'm not hitting tons I tend to try a different throw. I'm thinking I should probably stick to one style but can't help changing if my game isn't strong.

Should I force myself to stick to one throwing style or is it common to have a few different ones? I know the obvious answer is if I'm winning just keep doing what I'm doing but I really want to raise my game to the next level and be more consistent...

Thanks !
